Abstract
This study focused on the co-slurrying properties of petroleum coke and coal tar, considering the effect of slurry temperature and additives. With the increase of slurry temperature, the viscosity of the petroleum coke-coal tar slurry was decreased. Adding some additives into the slurry made the decrease of the slurry viscosity more remarkable while the slurry temperature increased. The petroleum coke-coal tar slurry exhibited a shear-thickening when the solid concentration was less than 30% ,while it showed a shear thinning when the solid concentration exceeded 40% . The static stability of the petroleum coke-coal tar slurry was poor and could be improved by adding SDBS or op emulsifier. With the increase in the solid concentration, the static stability of the petroleum coke-coal tar slurry became poorer. It was difficult for the petroleum coke-coal tar slurry to be steadily stored for more than three days, especially when the solid concentration was over 50% .
