Experimental study and application of new polymer foam plugging material

  • The fractured coal rocks in underground coal mine has a characteristic of low mechanical strength and poor pourability.A new polymer foam plugging material with the characteristics of low viscosity, proper expansion multiple and high mechanical strength of consolidation was developed, which used the organic resin as frame material, and added a little crosslinking agent, foaming agent and other additives.By studying the effect of different foaming agent additions on the performance of the material and the change characteristics of gel property, the optimum mixture ratio of each component of the plugging material was obtained.And then the plugging simulation experiments were also conducted, the results show that the plugging material can penetrate into the microfractures with the aperture below 10 μm and combine with coal mass stably, which has a significant plugging effect compared with the traditional materials.Finally, the engineering test results also show that the boreholes gas drainage effect has significantly improved by taking leakage treatment with the polymer foam plugging material, and it can prolong the drainage period of the boreholes, which has an extensive engineering application prospect.
